Pro featureCover letters, in Pro

A cover letter generator from the job description, built on your resume.

You've got the job posting open, your resume ready, and a blank page where the cover letter should go. That blank page is where most generic letters begin. CVMagnet drafts a tailored cover letter from your resume and the job description, so you start with a letter written for that role and spend your time editing it instead of staring at a cursor.

A cover letter generator from the job description, not a template

CVMagnet writes the letter for one job: the posting you've already tailored your resume to. It isn't a template with a different company name dropped in.

Each AI cover letter for a specific job is drafted by an AI model from that posting and your resume. Give it two different jobs and you get two different letters.

It opens with why you want this role

The first lines say why you want this particular role, not that you're writing to express interest. Then one or two concrete achievements from your resume carry the argument, instead of a second walk through your whole work history.

The body runs three or four short paragraphs, about 150 to 200 words: short enough to be read in full, long enough to give a reason and some proof.

Built from your resume, not invented

Every claim about your experience is meant to come from your resume. The letter is instructed not to invent projects, employers, metrics, or enthusiasm for tools you've never used. That's an instruction to the AI, not a check run by code, so read the letter before you send it, as you would anything an AI drafts.

Change any line, then download it to match your resume

The letter opens in an editor. Rewrite any line, or regenerate the whole letter if the draft isn't right.

When you're happy with it, download it as a PDF, a Word document, or plain text. The PDF and Word files use the same font as your resume, so the two documents look like a set.

It's a Pro feature, at $24.99/month

The cover letter generator is part of Pro, at $24.99/month. Pro also lifts the monthly limit on tailored resumes, so you can send a tailored resume and its own letter to every role you decide is worth it.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What does the cover letter say if the posting doesn't name the company?

It addresses the hiring team. When a posting leaves the company out, the letter doesn't guess a name and risk getting it wrong, so there's no invented employer to catch before you send it. If you'd rather name the company yourself, change the line in the editor.

Whose name is the cover letter signed with?

Yours, taken from your resume rather than retyped by the AI. The signature matches the name on your resume exactly as you wrote it, including any spelling or accents that are easy to get wrong. It's one less detail to proofread before you send.

Does a cover letter use up one of my tailored resumes?

No. A cover letter belongs to a match you've already run, so writing it, or regenerating it, doesn't count against your monthly tailored resumes. Tailor your resume to the posting first, then generate the letter for that same job.

Can I get a refund if Pro isn't right for me?

Yes. Pro has a 7-day money-back guarantee: a full refund within 7 days of your first payment. That's time to write a letter for a job you actually want and judge a real draft before you decide whether Pro is worth keeping.
